“If only. Those must be the two saddest words in the world.”― author Mercedes Lackey
At one time or another in our lives, we all come down with a case of the “if only’s.” From lost opportunities to failed relationships to bad decisions, the emotion of regret is directed toward the past, but psychologists say it can also have an important effect on our future.
“My biggest regret … is that I didn’t figure this out sooner,” motivational coach and author Leo Babauta of Zen Habits once said. “I could have started my own business years earlier if I’d known I could do it, and if I’d had the confidence in myself.”
Are you thinking about starting a business but remain on the proverbial fence when it comes to making a decision? Does the fear of failing paralyze you into not acting?
In the words of pop queen Taylor Swift, SHAKE IT OFF!
Unlike starting a business from scratch, franchises offer the independence of small business ownership with the benefits of a big business network. And, according to a recent survey by Franchise Business Review, most franchisees tend to be pretty happy with the results they get. Here’s what else they found:
- 90 percent of franchisees enjoy operating their business
- 85 percent feel positive about their affiliation to the organization
- 83 percent respect their franchisor,
- 78 percent would recommend their franchise brand to others
- 73 percent would do it all again
In other words, there isn’t a whole lot of regret. Not only can franchises be profitable, WITHOUT the headache of needing to know everything from soup to nuts – and you don’t know what you don’t know with a new start up. Franchises give you a success playbook from day one AND the feeling of satisfaction knowing that you now control your destiny.
You have to work the system to be a success by making informed decisions, working hard, managing your time, having enough money and treating your customers well.
